Human Resources Business Partner

The HR Business Partner’s principal objective is to identify and execute work specific to Human Resources for Wood Group Kenny.

Performance Management

• Provide day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions);

• Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention;

• Assist international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters;

• Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

Talent Acquisition

• Manage new hire onboarding, liaise with IT, facilities management, hiring managers, etc;

• Participate in candidate interviews and partner with hiring managers to ensure that requisitions and associated job descriptions match;

• Partner with internal recruiters and other members of the Human Resources team to develop and implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.

Learning and Development

• Assist with training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques, or documentation of performance issues;

• Under the direction of the HR Manager, Americas assist in the development, analysis, and continuous improvement of an integrated training strategy;  

Legal and Compliance

• Assist in the maintenance of employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions;

• Maintain current knowledge of applicable state, federal, and international labor law;


• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Psychology, Human Resources Management, required;

• PHR or SPHR Required;

• 3 to 4 years’ oil & gas experience within Human Resources as a Specialist or Generalist preferred

• Extensive knowledge of United States labor laws required;

• Canadian, and South American labor laws a plus;

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills;

• Expert proficiency in the following Microsoft applications:   Word, PowerPoint, Excel; knowledge of SharePoint is a plus;

• Ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, and work independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous business environment;

• Strong analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills;

• Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships – developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time;

• Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems;

• Evaluating Information to determine compliance with company standards – Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards

• Other duties as assigned
