Our client is one of the largest providers of environmental solutions to the oil & gas industry.


Watford City, North Dakota


This position will report to the Vice President of Human Resources.


The Director, Human Resources will lead and manage the Regional HR Managers in all human resource related practices and programs, including initiatives for recruitment, performance management, policy administration, training, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, communication and supporting the region’s business leaders.


• Develop and implement company-wide policies, programs and processes that improve efficiency, provide standardization, ease employee access and usage and meets organizational needs and federal laws and guidelines.

• Improve current or implement new programs/processes to address EEO objectives enhancing the company’s commitment to diversity. Work with business leaders to present creative solutions, coaching and support regarding employee related issues.

• Manage a team of HR professional providing leadership, coaching and development.

• Provide clear direction and leadership to both business leaders and HR direct reports that enable them to stay in aligned with stated goals and objectives.

• Assist with policy administration and initiate appropriate actions for resolution.

• Develop budgets and oversee HR administration in each region.

• Provide leadership in merger and acquisition activities.

• Implement leadership development programs throughout all regions.

• Proactively assess talent needs, taking action to attract top talent or the development of internal high potentials.

• Provide balance regarding the needs of the Company with the needs of the employee, including the creation and maintenance of a culture of employee engagement.

• Build strong business relationship and credibility with regional operational management teams.

• Provide support to employees enabling them to focus on their job responsibilities.


• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and at least 15 years of progressively challenging HR experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• 3+ years in the Oil &Gas, Energy &Power industry.

• Experience developing and managing teams in a challenging fast paced environment.

• Strong technical, professional HR skills and knowledge in all aspects of Human Resources.

• Multi-state knowledge of employment law and government regulations related to HR legislation and reporting obligations.

• Multistate/multisite locations require 50% traveling

• Must be able to effectively lead through influence, make presentations to all levels within the organization and possess strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.

• Prior mentoring coaching and development skills and experiences.

• Strong ability to multi-task; must be organized.
